This is vertical living, and it pushes the work towards the communal: street doors that stop latching, forced letterboxes, storage rooms and garage doors. In a block there are two things worth checking before anyone sets off — whether a neighbour or the administrator holds a spare, and whether the door is one of those that locks itself behind you when you step out with the bins.
