Most homes here are shut for much of the year
Of the 4,049 homes in Creixell, 59.8 % are not someone's main residence — against 17.9 % across the towns we cover. That changes what goes wrong. A lock left unused for months seizes up, and a cylinder on a door facing the sea shows it by the second winter. You arrive on a Friday evening, the key turns halfway, and there is no neighbour with a spare because the flat next door is shut too. It is also where an anti-squatter lock earns its keep: an empty, visible property nobody enters for weeks is exactly the case it was invented for.
