More tourist beds than residents
Vila-seca registers 8,621 hotel beds for 24,158 registered residents, where the median across our towns is 304. The place fills with people who do not live here, and a good share of the summer callouts are exactly that: holiday flats where the key belongs to an owner nobody can reach, doors that shut themselves with the luggage inside, hire cars with the keys still in them. In those cases the lock is not the first question — the first question is who is entitled to have it opened, because without that nobody touches the door.
