Anti-squatter locks
An anti-squatter lock makes sense on a flat that is going to sit empty for a season: with no cylinder reachable from outside, there is nothing to manipulate. It is a preventive measure, it is fitted by appointment, and it wants doing before you leave — not after you get the phone call.
When to message us
- The property is going to sit empty for a season or longer
- You only come a few weeks a year and nobody checks it in between
- It is inherited, on the market, or between tenants
- A neighbouring property in the same block has already had trouble
- You are leaving and want it done before you go, not after a phone call
What moves the price
- The state of the door and whether it needs reinforcing first
- The model fitted
- Whether the existing lock stays as a second point
- Access, if the property is on a scattered plot
How the job is done
1
Look at the door as it is
An anti-squatter lock only makes sense on a door and frame that can carry it. If yours cannot, we say so rather than fit something that gives false confidence.
2
Fitted by appointment
It is installation work, so it comes by van with the parts and it is agreed in advance.
3
No cylinder reachable from outside
That is the whole idea: there is nothing on the outside face to manipulate, and the door is opened with its own key from a protected position.
4
You know how to undo it
Before we leave you have opened and closed it yourself, so arriving at midnight in August is not the first time you try.
What anti-squatter locks costs
The rate is the same in all 54 towns we cover: distance is never charged separately. What moves the amount is the hour, the day and the type of lock.
Where we do anti-squatter locks
Every town has its own page with the real time to reach it and what changes there.
