What we do

Eight jobs, across 22 towns, with the price agreed before anyone sets off. Every service page says when it is worth calling, how the work is done and what moves the price.

Emergency locksmith

An emergency is never planned: either you cannot get into your home or you cannot lock it, and you are not leaving until it is sorted. What you need first is not a promise — it is a real number for how long we take to reach you and a price you can see before anyone sets off.

Locked out of your home

Nearly every door opens without destroying the lock. What decides whether anything has to be broken is not the town — it is whether the key is in the other side, whether the bolt is thrown, and what kind of lock it is. Say that when you message and the quote will be right first time.

Euro cylinder change

Changing the cylinder is the sensible answer to lost keys, a move, or a tenant leaving: the turning part is replaced, not the whole lock, and it costs a good deal less. It is a half-hour job and it is almost always done on the spot.

Lock replacement

The whole lock gets replaced when the mechanism is damaged, when there has been a break-in attempt, or when what is fitted is simply not enough any more. If you have only lost the keys, the cylinder alone is usually enough and costs less — we will tell you which one you actually need.

Lock repair

A lock that has gone stiff, a key that turns without opening, a door that no longer lines up: these rarely need replacing. It is usually wear, dirt, or a door that has dropped on its hinges, and repairing costs about half what replacing does.

Car lockout

Keys shut inside the car is the one emergency with no waiting room: it happens in a car park, often with the engine running or someone still inside. It is opened without forcing the lock or touching the electronics — and with a hire car, the rental agreement is what we need to see.

Anti-squatter locks

An anti-squatter lock makes sense on a flat that is going to sit empty for a season: with no cylinder reachable from outside, there is nothing to manipulate. It is a preventive measure, it is fitted by appointment, and it wants doing before you leave — not after you get the phone call.

High-security locks

Upgrading a lock usually follows a scare: an attempt on the stairwell, a neighbour who was broken into, or a door that simply feels flimsy. Before selling anything we look at the door you actually have — quite often the cylinder and a security escutcheon are enough.
