Locked out of your home
Nearly every door opens without destroying the lock. What decides whether anything has to be broken is not the town — it is whether the key is in the other side, whether the bolt is thrown, and what kind of lock it is. Say that when you message and the quote will be right first time.
When to message us
- The door closed behind you while the keys were on the table
- You have lost the keys or they were stolen
- The key turns but the door will not open
- The lock is jammed and the key will not go in
- You are locked out of the storage room, the garage or a business unit
What moves the price
- On the latch or double-locked — the second is a longer job
- Standard, security or armoured lock
- Whether the key is left in the other side, which complicates it considerably
- Time of day and day of the week
How the job is done
1
Describe the door
Whether the key is in the other side, whether the bolt is thrown, and what kind of lock it is. Those three things decide the method and the price.
2
Non-destructive first
Most doors open by manipulating the mechanism without damaging it. The lock keeps working afterwards and there is nothing to replace.
3
If it cannot be, you are told first
A forced, seized or high-security lock with the bolt thrown sometimes has to be destroyed. You hear that before it happens, never after.
4
We check it still works
The door is left locking properly. If a part was replaced, you keep the old one.
What locked out of your home costs
The rate is the same in all 54 towns we cover: distance is never charged separately. What moves the amount is the hour, the day and the type of lock.
